THE PROCESS
WE ARE HERE FOR YOU
GUIDING YOU THROUGH EVERY STEP
We want you to understand what goes on at each step along the way. Below is some information about our process.
PROSTHETICS:
- 1. First Step: You obtain a prescription from your physician.
- 2. We meet with you to discuss options, take measurements, and make casts. This initial visit takes approximately 30 minutes to two hours.
- 3. We fabricate your device; this may take up to two weeks to complete. We also contact your insurance to verify coverage and obtain approvals. You and/or your insurance are not billed until we deliver your final device.
- 4. An initial fitting appointment with a preparatory prosthesis allows us to verify proper fitting. You may wear it for one to two weeks to determine if changes are needed. The process may take longer for newer amputees as your limb volume may still be changing.
- 5. Follow-up appointments allow us to continue assessing fit and function of your prosthesis over time. We discuss what may or may not be working for you, making changes as needed to ensure your comfort and satisfaction.
